Rajkumar Lekhi, Minister of Home, Communications and Law of Madhesh Province, has said that journalism has as much contribution as politics in every change in the country. He said this while addressing an orientation program on cyber security and AI organized by the Mass Media Authority in Lahan on Tuesday.
'No matter how many political changes have taken place in the country, journalism has no less contribution than politics in all of them,' said Minister Le Khie, 'federalism, republic, democracy would not have been possible if the role of the media was not there.' However, he says that it is sad that the state is not taking the problems faced by the journalism world seriously. He said that the state should not be delayed to strengthen the
communication sector and to develop the skills of the media workers. He says that the current system will remain incomplete without journalism.
Minister Lekhi also said that his ministry is making various plans for journalists who are doing journalism and have spent a long time in journalism. He informed that work is being done on plans such as insuring journalists, giving scholarships to study, providing financial support to good journalists and encouraging them. He has also requested that the media should be prioritized as the achievements achieved after the
political movement have not been implemented. He has also complained to the central government saying that the state government has been made to be powerless.
