The problems of Madhes cannot be solved by staying in Kathmandu: Congress leader Koirala

Nepali Congress leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala has said that the problems of Madhes cannot be solved by staying in Kathmandu.

Inaugurating the regional conference of Congress Mahottari Region No. 3 held at Bhatolia in Mahottari on Saturday, he said that unemployment is rampant in Madhes and the farmers here are suffering from the problems of fertiliser, irrigation and market. "We understand that the Madhes are in trouble," he said, "The problems of the Madhes cannot be solved by sitting in Kathmandu." "We have asked to hold the party's 15th convention, but the party officials seem to be slow," leader Koirala said, "if we start holding the convention before the election, we may be weak again."

Koirala also said that Congress and UML will compete with each other in the upcoming elections. Koirala also said that there is a need to show the goal of the Congress by fighting alone in the upcoming elections and winning at all three levels. "Since the government changes every 2/2 months and there is no political stability, we are forced to form a government together with the UML," he said, "but this government has not been able to work according to the expectations of the people." He said that it is time to move forward with other parties to change the error. "People are disappointed," leader Koirala said, "the time has come to overcome this disappointment and move on."
