Candidates of the Maoist Center-National Independent Party alliance have won the election for the Golbazar Water and Sanitation Project Consumer Committee.

They defeated the candidates of ruling Nepali Congress, CPN-UML along with Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal, CPN Unified Socialist and Democratic Samajwadi Party alliance and won with the panel.

According to the final results of the election, Jeevach Shah of the Maoist-RSWP alliance has won the presidency by getting 384 votes. His closest rival, Pramod Lama, the candidate for the post of the opposition alliance, got 316 votes and was defeated.

Similarly, Anil Sah of the Maoist RSVP alliance panel has been elected as vice president, Pujan Singh as secretary, Nirmala Kumari as treasurer and Rameshwar Sah as joint secretary. Similarly, Chinu Kumari Bhujel, Ramkripal Sah, Kuseshwar Paswan and Sunita Yadav were elected as members.

Golbazar is the home town of CPN-UML Standing Committee Member and Member of Parliament Leelanath Shrestha and CPN-Maoist Standing Committee Member Bishwanath Sah. Therefore, this election was watched with great interest at the local level.
