More than 600 people have taken services in the free eye camp conducted in the rural areas of Siraha. 650 people have benefited from the eye camps held at two locations in Sukhipur municipality.

Among them, 81 people received cataract surgery services, according to the organizing organization Sukhipur Youth Network. They were operated on at Phool Kumari Mahato Memorial Hospital in Karjanha on Thursday.

The examination of their eyes was conducted on the 29th of December last in the premises of the community school located in Sukhipur-2 Chajana and on the 30th of November in the premises of the community school located in Sukhipur-10 Dahipaudi.

The eye check-up camp was attended by technicians and doctors from Tilganga Eye Institute Kathmandu, Ramlal Golcha Eye Hospital Biratnagar and Health Trust Foundation Siraha. The surgery was done by a doctor from Tilganga. In the

camp, medicines are also distributed free of cost to the patients. Similarly, the network said that patients who wear glasses are provided with a 20 percent discount. Shiv Yadav of the network said that common people from other municipalities of the district including Sukhipur Municipality also took examination and surgery services in the camp.
