After the crisis of losing power, Janmaat Party gave Congress the Ministry of Finance in Madhesh Province and made it participate in the government. The week-long tussle between Janmaat and Congress for the finance ministry ended on Thursday with the advice of the central power alliance.
The Chief Minister of Madhesh, Satish Kumar Singh, had taken the position that the Ministry of Finance should get public opinion. The Congress had warned that it would withdraw its support to the government if it did not provide the finance ministry. Although the Congress finalized the name of the minister a week ago, the cabinet could not be expanded due to the lack of the Ministry of Finance.
Two days after giving the vote of confidence to Chief Minister Singh, the dispute over the ministry transaction started the distrust between the public opinion and the Congress. After the ministry dispute in the province was not resolved, the issue of distribution of ministries reached the center. When the Congress saw that it would not get the Ministry of Finance, it started preparing to withdraw the support given to the Madhesh government. On Thursday, while the Congress parliamentary party was meeting at the state party office in Janakpur, the public opinion agreed to give 4 ministries including finance to the Congress.
The Chief Minister had agreed to give Congress four ministries including finance before taking the vote of confidence in the Madhesh Pradesh Assembly on June 22. However, on June 25, public opinion took the stand of not giving the Ministry of Finance. Public opinion president CK Raut held a discussion with the leaders of the coalition on Thursday regarding the expansion of the government and sharing of ministries. UML, Congress and LOSPA are participating in the government led by Janmatka Singh in Madhesh.
Congress and LOSPA ministers took oath on Thursday evening. Madhesh state chief Sumitra Subedi Bhandari administered the oath of office and secrecy to the ministers. Provincial Chief Bhandari has sworn in Sunil Yadav of Rautahat as Finance Minister from Congress, Janardan Singh Chhetri of Parsa as Minister of Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives, Shesh Narayan Yadav of Dhanusha as Minister of Energy, Irrigation and Drinking Water and Kaushal Kishore Rai of Sarlahi as Minister of Labor and Transport.
LOSPA chief whip Rani Sharma Tiwari took oath as Minister of Education and Culture. It has been agreed that UML's Rajkumar Lekhi, who is the Minister of Education and Culture, will be given the responsibility of the Ministry of Home, Communication and Law. Sakil Ali Mian, minister without department of public opinion, has been assigned the charge of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism.
A 15-member council of ministers has been formed in Madhesh province, including 11 ministers and 3 state ministers, apart from the chief minister. The government consists of 3 ministers including the Chief Minister and 1 State Minister from the People's Vote, 4 Ministers and 2 State Ministers from the UML, 4 Ministers from the Congress and 1 Minister from the LOSPA.
