Two people were killed when a bus hit a motorcycle near Bimiha Chowk in Suddhodhan Rural Municipality–6, Kapilvastu, along the Lumbini–Taulihawa Postal Road section at midnight on Saturday.
According to District Police Office spokesperson DSP Ripendra Kumar Singh, a bus (registration number BE 1 KHA 4552) heading from Taulihawa to Bhairahawa struck a motorcycle (registration number LU PRA 01–004 PA 3856) coming from the opposite direction, resulting in the deaths of both people on the motorcycle.
Although 30-year-old Ram Bahadur Chai and 28-year-old Sarju Chai of Paschim Bhadehar, Yashodhara Rural Municipality–2, who were seriously injured, were immediately taken to Kapilvastu Hospital in the district headquarters Taulihawa for treatment, they had already died.
The bus driver is in police custody.
