Sugarcane farmers in West Nawalparasi have received the subsidy amount for the fiscal year 2082/83 on time. 5,395 farmers in the district have received the subsidy amount. 

According to Kamal Sapkota, Chief of the Treasury and Accounts Control Office, Parasi, Rs 126,177,305 has been paid to the farmers' accounts before the end of Asar.  According to Sapkota, Rs 3,568,914 is yet to be paid as the necessary documents and details of 464 farmers could not be submitted. 

In the last fiscal year, Bagmati Sugar Industry had submitted details of purchasing sugarcane from 3,514 farmers and Lumbini Sugar Industry from 1,881 farmers.  Of the four sugar mills in the district, only Bagmati Khandsari Sugar Mill and Lumbini Sugar Industry were operational.  Bagmati crushed 1,154,434 quintals of sugarcane and Lumbini Sugar Mill crushed 699,083 quintals of sugarcane.   

Pratappur Rural Municipality Chairman and Central Spokesperson of the Sugarcane Producers Farmers Association, Umesh Chandra Yadav, said that the government has provided relief to the farmers by paying the subsidy amount to the sugarcane farmers on time.
