In Triveni Rural Municipality of Rolpa, the municipality has built dozens of public structures, including a hospital, campus, ward office, health post, police post, school, bus park, and others, on 164 ropanis of land donated free of charge by local residents for public purposes.
Due to the voluntary land donation of locals, infrastructure development has gained momentum, and Triveni district is becoming a leading local level in terms of physical development. According to the details made public by the rural municipality, citizens of various wards and settlements have so far provided 164 ropanis of land for public purposes through donation letters. A 15-bed primary hospital, New Nepal Campus, ward offices, health post, basic health service center, police post, Red Cross sub-branch, village clinic, school, and bus park have been built on the land provided by the land donor citizens. According to the details, the largest amount of 30.3 ropanis of land has been donated for the Model Child Welfare Basic School, Dhoreni located in Triveni-7. Similarly, seven different land donors have jointly provided about 21 ropanis of land for the construction of a 15-bed primary hospital located in Triveni-5.
Rural Municipality Chairman Karna Bahadur Bantha Magar said that it would not have been possible to construct so many public structures without the generous support of the locals. 'Thanks to the support of the land donors, the rural municipality has been able to build the necessary infrastructure easily, we are happy,' he said.
Similarly, the founding chairman of the rural municipality, Shanta Kumar Wali, said that the citizens themselves took the initiative to donate land after openly discussing the development needs and limited resources of the rural municipality with the locals. 'I reached the leadership when the local level structure was in place. During my time, there was a situation where all the structures had to be built. After sharing our situation and problems with the people, we also got support,' he said happily, 'We were able to obtain the land by making everyone happy.' According to him, the construction of office buildings and expansion of other physical infrastructure was greatly facilitated after the necessary land was easily obtained for public institutions.
Triveni Rural Municipality, which was formed by incorporating the former Jugar, Nuwagaun, Budhagaun, Gairigaun and Kareti VDCs, is now considered to be ahead in terms of physical development in the district. Most of the settlements in the rural municipality are connected to the road network. Concrete buildings for campuses, hospitals, ward offices and health posts have been constructed, and the rural municipality claims that there has been significant improvement in education, health and local service delivery.
With the expansion of infrastructure, Triveni Rural Municipality is also becoming known as a municipality that develops a production-oriented local economy. Fully commercial vegetable farming is carried out in wards 2, 3 and 4, while farming is also expanding in wards 1, 5, 6 and 7. Road access has been made to all seven ward offices from the municipal center Nerpa. The Shahid Marg from Dang Ghorahi to Rukum passes through Nuwagaun and Gairigaun, making road access easier.
To improve the educational situation, one staff nurse has been appointed in each of the 12 secondary schools here, and a policy has been put forward to fill the teacher positions as needed in all schools. For the fiscal year 2083/84, Triveni Rural Municipality has made public a budget of 524.434 million.
