The Lumbini provincial government has spent only 67.18 percent of the total budget for the current fiscal year 2082/083. This expenditure is lower than that of the previous fiscal year. According to the details released by the Provincial Controller of Accounts Office, only 26.14 billion 27.94 million rupees have been spent out of the budget of 38.91 billion rupees. The provincial government claims that the Genji movement, staff shortage, elections, etc. have also affected capital expenditure. The government has also spent less on the current side. The government had allocated 15.43 billion rupees for the current side. Of that, 10.46 billion rupees, or 67.76 percent, has been spent. The expenditure on capital is still low. In the details of ministry-wise expenditure, the Ministry of Health has spent the highest budget. The Ministry has achieved 79.38 percent financial progress by spending Rs 3.93 billion 15.66 million out of the total budget of Rs 4.95 billion 29 million 73 thousand. The Ministry had paid nearly Rs 2 billion towards capital alone for the Lumbini Provincial Hospital, a provincial pride project being constructed under the Ministry of Health. This has shown the ministry at the forefront in its financial progress.

In second place, the Ministry of Forest and Environment has spent 1.81 billion 6.84 billion rupees out of 2.54 billion 7.45 billion rupees, or 71.32 percent. The Ministry of Forest and Environment has also spent most of the allocated amount on community forest management, training and seminars, which are part of the current expenditure.
