Nepali Congress Lumbini Province Chief Whip Jamuna Dhakal has urged lawmakers not to display rude and obscene behavior while making statements in the parliament.

At the beginning of the fifteenth meeting of the eighth session held on Monday, she urged them to use civilized language in response to personal comments made by UML lawmakers targeting Congress parliamentary party leaders and ministers. Congress whip Dhanalakshmi Shrestha protested during the meeting.

At the beginning of the provincial assembly meeting held on Tuesday, Chief Whip Dhakal demanded that the statements made by UML parliamentary party deputy leader Bhoj Prasad Shrestha, MPs Durga Bahadur Chaudhary, Basanti Neupane, and Rajkumar Chaudhary be removed from the record as they acted contrary to Provincial Assembly Rule 21 (D).

‘The MPs made personal comments and used obscene, rude, insulting and morally offensive words’ "It should be removed from the record," she said, "MPs are requested not to show obscene and rude behavior while making their statements." She said that since such activities give the same political culture to the people and the current youth, the policy-making MP should present himself responsibly. She claimed that the behavior of MPs when federalism is being questioned raises questions about the dignity of Parliament.

In the meeting, as per the demand of Chief Sachet, Speaker Tularam Gharti has expressed his commitment to study and remove it from the record. "I have seen and heard that rude behavior has been used in Parliament," he said, "But I will study and remove from the record which words are against the rules."

Speaker Gharti also warned the provincial assembly members by reading the rules in the meeting and instructed them not to engage in obscene, rude, insulting, or immoral activities in the coming days. The meeting resumed after the Speaker pledged to remove the words used by the UML MP from the record, as demanded by the Congress.
