The ‘Bill on the Customs and Traditions of the Tharu Community’ presented in the Lumbini Provincial Assembly has been sent to the Social Development Committee for clause-wise discussion.
In the 11th meeting of the eighth session of the Provincial Assembly, Social Development Minister Janmajya Timilsina had submitted a proposal to send the bill to the thematic committee. The proposal presented by Minister Timilsina was presented to the Assembly by Speaker Tularam Gharti Magar for decision.
After the Assembly unanimously passed the proposal, the bill has been sent to the Social Development Committee for clause-wise discussion. Now the Social Development Committee will discuss each clause of the bill in detail and prepare a report. After the committee’s report, the bill will be presented again to the Provincial Assembly and further discussion and approval process will proceed, the Provincial Assembly has stated.
Discussions on the Lumbini government’s budget are continuing in the Provincial Assembly on Monday. In the ministerial-level discussion on the budget for the upcoming fiscal year, discussions are underway on Monday on the budgets of the Ministry of Economic Development and Planning, the Ministry of Urban Development and Drinking Water, the Ministry of Forest and Environment, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Land Management and Cooperatives.
