Lumbini-Banaras B2B Travel Mart and Family Trip have been launched in Lumbini with the aim of promoting tourism between Lumbini and Banaras and making these areas more tourist destinations. The travel mart has been organized with the aim of promoting tourism by connecting the spirituality of Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha, to Banaras, considered the cultural capital of India.
This program, which was started by the Lumbini Hotel Association on its own initiative without any support from anywhere, is being attended by 40 representatives of small and large travel and tour operator companies and hoteliers from Banaras, India, as well as Delhi, Lucknow and Bouddhavya. The program will include discussions, interactions and discussions on hotel packages and facilities between representatives of travel and tour operator companies and hoteliers from Lumbini and Banaras, said Lumbini Hotel Association President Leelamani Sharma. ‘Hotel packages from both places are exchanged,’ he said, ‘this sends guests to the hotel where they find the most convenience.’
The travel mart, which began on Monday afternoon, will end on Wednesday. This is also the first travel mart to be run on a private level in Lumbini. This will further help promote Lumbini’s tourism, expand the international market, and promote religious and cultural tourism between Nepal and India, said Lumbini Hotel Association advisor Khim Shrestha. He said that the program was organized to promote tourism by spontaneously arranging accommodation and food in Lumbini’s hotels without any assistance.
There are 83 hotels and restaurants in Lumbini, ranging from four-star to budget-friendly. Lumbini is known worldwide as the birthplace of Prince Siddhartha. Lumbini, the source of world peace, is important to develop as a tourist destination by linking it with Banaras, which is considered the city of salvation in Hindu mythology, said Siri Bazir, associate professor at Lumbini Buddhist University.
‘Kashi Vishwanath Temple, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas, is considered a center of faith for Hindus,’ he said, ‘Likewise, Lumbini is equally sacred and holy not only for Buddhists but also for all peacemakers.’ In India, Varanasi is also called Kashi and Banaras. Lumbini is the most visited tourist destination in Nepal.
