Eight local levels, including a sub-metropolitan city, a municipality and six municipalities in Banke, have brought budgets. Nepalgunj Sub-metropolitan City has brought a budget of Rs 1.76 billion 64 million 83 thousand for the fiscal year 2083/84.

Mayor Prashant Bista presented the budget at the 19th session of the Municipal Assembly. In Nepalgunj, where the deputy mayor is vacant, the mayor has presented the budget along with the policy and program this time.

Nepalgunj has received Rs 686.2 million in conditional grants from the union, Rs 53 million in supplementary grants, Rs 26.9 million in special grants, Rs 31.4 million 50 thousand in conditional grants from the province and Rs 15 million in supplementary grants. This amount cannot be distributed.

Meanwhile, Mayor Bista has said that he will take the initiative to establish sisterly relations with Ayodhya city of India to promote religious tourism by including Bageshwori Temple, the 108-foot Hanuman statue under construction, and other historical and cultural areas in the policy and program. He mentioned that a Sadbhava religious circuit will be developed by including areas of religious and cultural importance.

Narainapur Rural Municipality of Banke has unanimously passed the budget, policy and program presented for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/84. With the approval of this budget, Narainapur has become the first local level in Banke district to bring a budget.

The 20th session of the Village Assembly held under the chairmanship of Rural Municipality Chairman Ishtiaq Ahmed Shah unanimously passed the Financial Bill and Appropriation Bill 2083 and set the roadmap for development and service delivery for the upcoming year. In the village assembly, Chairman Shah presented the policy and program for the upcoming fiscal year, while the rural municipality vice-chairperson Jayanti Srivastava presented a budget of Rs. 492.83 crore.

After the discussion, the rural municipality chairman Shah said that the rural municipality unanimously approved the policy, program, financial bill and appropriation bill. According to him, education, health, agriculture, tourism, infrastructure development, employment creation and social development have been given high priority in the passed policy and program. The rural municipality has stated that it has included targeted programs for the economic, social and educational empowerment of communities including Dalit, Muslim, Madhesi, Tharu and others.

Chief Administrative Officer Nawaraj Wali informed that the 20th session of the village assembly was successfully concluded with the passage of the financial bill and appropriation bill. Rapti Sonari rural municipality has brought a budget of Rs. 924.2 crore. At the 19th session of the village assembly on Wednesday, Vice-Chairperson Manisha Singh Tharu presented an estimated budget of Rs. 924.239 crore for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/84.

The budget presented in the assembly, chaired by Rural Municipality Chairman Tapta Bahadur Poudel, has given high priority to education, health, agriculture, employment, infrastructure development and social inclusion. Of the presented budget, Rs. 616.742 crore has been allocated for current expenditure and Rs. 307.497 crore for capital expenditure.

Rs. 29.840 crore has been allocated for the agriculture and livestock sector. It is stated that programs for agricultural modernization, irrigation expansion, use of improved seeds, animal health services and epidemic control will be implemented from this.

Similarly, Rs 11.144 crore has been allocated for employment promotion, Rs 12.5 crore for forest, environment, drinking water and disaster management, and Rs 50 lakh for women, children and inclusion programs.

Chief Administrative Officer Maniram Kharal has informed that each ward in Rapti Sonari, which has a total of 9 wards, has been allocated Rs 9.5 lakh. Baijnath Rural Municipality has submitted an estimated budget of Rs 81 crore. Vice President Nirmala Rokaya has submitted a total budget of Rs 817.140 crore for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/084.

In the second meeting of the 20th Village Assembly, which began under the chairmanship of Rural Municipality Chairman Prakash Bahadur Shahi, Vice Chairman Rokaya presented an estimated budget of Rs 156.7 million from federal equalization, Rs 187.3 million from provincial government equalization, Rs 305.5 million from federal government conditional current amount, Rs 71.7 million from federal government conditional capital amount, Rs 1 million from provincial government conditional current amount, and Rs 8 million from provincial government conditional capital amount.

The budget presented includes necessary budget allocations for education, health, gender equality and social inclusion, youth and sports, economic and agricultural development, tourism, cottage industries and cooperatives, labor and employment, physical infrastructure, forest environment and disaster management, landless squatters and unorganized settlements, and law and justice, public service delivery, good governance and institutional development.

Banke's Kohalpur Municipality has presented a budget of Rs 1.75 billion for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/084.

Mayor Purna Acharya presented the policy and program for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/084 at the 20th municipal assembly session that began on Wednesday. Mayor Acharya has established Kohalpur as an environmentally friendly city along with a green city in the policy and program, giving special priority to physical infrastructure development, health, education and social justice.

Similarly, Deputy Mayor Sangita Subedi presented the estimated income and expenditure (budget) of one billion seven hundred and fifty-one million rupees for the upcoming fiscal year at the municipal assembly. Deputy Mayor Subedi presented the budget, which is estimated to generate an income of 210 million rupees including internal taxes, non-tax revenues and other income. Similarly, the equalization grant received from the federal government is estimated to be 191.4 million rupees, conditional grant 310.6 million rupees, supplementary grant 65 million rupees and income from revenue sharing is estimated to be 169.1 million rupees.
