Nepalgunj Sub-metropolitan City has declared a summer vacation again due to extreme heat and rising temperatures. As life has become uncomfortable due to the continuous hot weather, the sub-metropolitan city has declared a public holiday for schools for three more days.
The sub-metropolitan city has requested the educational institutions under the sub-metropolitan city to provide summer vacation from Ashad 10 to 12 and to arrange for self-study by assigning homework during the vacation period.
Gorkha Bahadur Thapa, Municipal Education Officer of the Education and Sports Division of Nepalgunj Sub-metropolitan City, said that the decision to grant vacation to schools was taken considering the risk of adverse effects on the health of students due to difficulties in school transportation.
Due to the high risk of heat, some local levels of Banke, including the sub-metropolitan city, had granted summer vacation to educational institutions last week.
