Rolpa Municipality has made public a budget of Rs 802.5 million for the fiscal year 2083/084. The budget presented at the 19th municipal assembly held at the municipal assembly hall on Wednesday prioritized agriculture, education, tourism and infrastructure, and claimed to have put forward a new development blueprint.
The budget presented by municipal deputy mayor Geeta Acharya aims to collect Rs 20.5 million from internal revenue for the upcoming fiscal year, while Rs 782.75 million is expected to be received through intergovernmental financial transfers and cash balances. Out of the total budget of the municipality, 80.74 percent (Rs 647.195 million) has been allocated for current expenditure and 19.26 percent (Rs 155.455 million) has been allocated for capital expenditure.
In the policy and program presented by the Mayor of the Municipality, Surendra Thapa Gharti Magar, under the slogan 'Agriculture, Education, Tourism and Infrastructure: The Basis of Good Governance and Prosperity of Rolpa Municipality', special priority has been given to modernization and commercialization in agriculture, quality education, development of tourism corridors to develop tourism, expansion of information technology, good governance and inclusive development.
The budget implementation of the current fiscal year 2082/083 has also been reviewed. In the previous fiscal year, the municipality had brought a total budget of 826.325 million rupees. The budget for the upcoming fiscal year has decreased slightly compared to the previous year.
