The Lumbini Provincial Assembly meeting scheduled for 1 pm on Monday has been postponed. The meeting has been postponed by a day at the special request of the government after the provincial assembly members complained that they were not able to study the budget. The provincial Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning had kept the annual budget program (red book) in the pigeon hole of the provincial assembly on Sunday. The provincial assembly members had complained to the Chief Minister that they could not take it as Sunday was a public holiday and that they were not able to study it. Hearing the same complaint, Chief Minister Chet Narayan Acharya made a special request on behalf of the government to postpone the provincial assembly meeting by a day. The meeting has been postponed to 3 pm on Tuesday as per the same request. The government had announced a budget of Rs 37.38 billion on Asad 1. The provincial assembly meeting was then called for 1 pm on Monday. The provincial ministry of economic affairs finally made the annual budget booklet available to the provincial assembly members on Sunday.

Provincial Assembly Secretary Durlabh Kumar Pun Magar issued a notice on Monday, informing that the tenth meeting of the eighth session, scheduled to be held at 1 pm on Monday, has been postponed at the special request of the Lumbini Provincial Government. The notice states, ‘On the instructions of the Speaker, the meeting has now been scheduled to be held on Tuesday, Asad 9 at 3 pm.’

Provincial Assembly Secretary Pun said that a notice regarding the postponement of the meeting has been published for the information of the Provincial Assembly members in accordance with Sub-rule (3) of Rule 12 of the Lumbini Provincial Assembly Rules, 2079 BS.
