A two-day free heart, kidney and multi-specialty health camp organized at Shivaraj Hospital in Krishnanagar Municipality has examined 3,785 people and distributed free medicines. 

The camp was organized by Krishnanagar Municipality on Sunday and Monday with the technical support of the Department of Kidney Diseases, Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Manmohan Cardiothoracic Vascular and Transplant Center and Devdaha Medical College in Kathmandu. 

1,655 people with heart disease, 488 people with kidney disease and 466 people with gynecological and obstetric diseases were examined and treated in the camp. Similarly, 216 people with mental health, 830 people with musculoskeletal and neurological diseases and 320 people with ear, nose and throat (ENT) diseases were provided health services and free medicines were distributed. 

Similarly, during the camp, ECG of 591 people, echo of 381 people and X-ray of 366 people were done . Similarly, laboratory (lab) tests were performed on 763 people and ultrasound (USG) services were provided to 423 people, said Dr. Durgesh Chaudhary, Medical Officer of Shivraj Hospital and focal person of the camp program. Out of 28 heart patients, 7 were children under the age of 8. . 

The team led by senior nephrologist Dr. Divya Singh Shah, senior cardiologist Dr. Anil Bhattarai, ear, nose and throat specialist Dr. Narmaya Thapa and orthopedic specialist Dr. Dipendra Singh Chhetri conducted health examinations . A medical team of 53 people including doctors, nursing staff, lab and health workers provided the service . 

Krishnanagar Municipality Mayor Rajat Pratap Shah said that the general public benefited greatly from the specialist camp targeting the poor and needy. ‘Not only specialist services, but also free medicines were provided to everyone,’ he said, ‘Patients with complex problems have been referred to hospitals with facilities for further treatment.’
