The Lumbini Provincial Government has allocated a total budget of Rs 37.38 billion 45 lakh for the fiscal year 2083/084. The government has allocated Rs 11.11 billion, 27.10 million for current and Rs 22.71 billion 65.40 million for capital for the upcoming fiscal year.

Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning Dhanendra Karki presented the budget in the Provincial Assembly on Monday. Minister Karki said that the total budget, including the amount for financial management, has been set at Rs 37.38 billion 45 lakh. The government has stated that through the upcoming year's budget, the strengthening of the provincial structure, institutional development of the federal democratic system, strengthening the provincial economy, financial good governance, expansion of public and private sector participation and economic prosperity have been prioritized. Minister Karki said that the budget has been formulated to implement the long-term vision of 'Prosperous Lumbini, Happy Citizens'.

The Lumbini Provincial Government has allocated Rs 5.65 billion for the development of the health sector. The government has allocated Rs 2.12 billion for the Lumbini Provincial Hospital and other hospitals, which are being built as a pride project of Lumbini Province. Similarly, the government is going to operate telemedicine services at Lumbini Provincial Hospital. The government has also prioritized expanding Rapti Provincial Hospital to 200 beds.

Rs 10.18 billion has been allocated for the physical infrastructure sector. The government has adopted a policy of implementing the road master plan prepared by the provincial government for physical infrastructure and selecting road plans from it. For that, 237 roads have been put forward as multi-year projects.

The government has allocated Rs 4.15 billion for urban development and drinking water. Continuing the 'One House, One Drinking Water' campaign, a new settlement development plan has been put forward. The government has stated that it will protect old settlements. 3.5 billion rupees have been allocated for education and social development. The government is going to establish an innovation center for education.

A budget of 110 million rupees has been allocated for that. 1.44 billion rupees have been allocated for the development of the industry and tourism sector, 1.78 billion rupees for agriculture, land management and cooperative sectors, 2.81 billion rupees for energy and irrigation, and 380 million rupees for youth and sports.
