With the aim of motivating senior citizens and establishing them in society, 60 such individuals have been honored.
In a program organized by the Nepal Cancer Prevention Association District Branch in collaboration with Kapilvastu Municipality on Saturday, 60 senior citizens from the city area were honored.
Mayor Sudip Poudel honored the senior citizens by presenting them with a dosalla, glucose, a glass and a certificate of honor.
Since the experience and contribution of senior citizens are a source of inspiration for society, everyone should work from their respective fields to respect and honor them, said Kapilvastu Mayor Poudel.
As such honor programs enhance social harmony, coordination, compassion and friendship and lead to socially useful work, Rajesh Gyawali, Chairman of the Cancer Prevention Association District Branch, said that the honor program will be continued.
Certificates were also distributed to the lifelong members of the Nepal Cancer Prevention Association District Branch on the occasion of the program.
