A district court has ordered the detention of two women traveling through eastern Nepal and two men arrested in Kathmandu, along with a Nepali middleman, in gold theft and organized crime cases.

Four Pakistani nationals have been remanded in custody on charges of stealing jewellery from gold shops in various parts of Nepal after coming from Pakistan.
The court of Kapilvastu District Court Judge Dinbandhu Baral on Thursday ordered the remand of two women who were arrested in Chandrauta of Shivraj Municipality after coming to Kapilvastu via eastern Nepal and their two men who were arrested in Kathmandu.
The Pakistani nationals who were remanded in custody are 21-year-old Webby Kaslum and 37-year-old Sarvana Savana. Similarly, Ifan Ali, 23, husband of Baby Kaslum with passport number US 1848071, and Safiur Rahman, 41, husband of Sarvana Savana with passport number AQ 5988103, have also been remanded in custody.
Similarly, Somlal Subedi of Kaski Pokhara, who was arrested on charges of acting as a middleman by promising to settle their cases and clear them, has also been remanded in custody. The court demanded a bail of Rs 3 lakh from him, but he could not pay it.
The five people have been booked for organized crime and robbery, said DSP Ripendra Kumar Singh, Information Officer of the District Police Office.
The police also recovered Rs 86,040 in cash, including Nepali notes of Rs 10 to Rs 1,000, from the women. Similarly, DSP Singh said that US$ 17,136, Saudi Riyal 325, Bangladeshi Taka 1,615, UAE Dirham 5 and Malaysian Ringgit 185 were also recovered from both the men.
All four of them, who came to Nepal on a one-month visa, arrived in Kathmandu on March 24. Their visas were valid until April 22.
