One person died and the driver was slightly injured in a minitruck accident on the Balle-Jhinuwa inner road section in Madi Rural Municipality-1 of Rolpa on Thursday morning. According to the police, the minitruck (Ra 1 Kha 3045) carrying potatoes from Ballekhola to Pokhara fell about 30 meters off the road at around 7:30 am. The truck that crashed after the road collapsed was driven by Nokhiram Wali, 42, of Jobari, Madi Rural Municipality-5. The driver Wali suffered minor injuries in the right hand in the accident. The body of Chandra Bahadur Basnet, 47, of Devisthan, Bagchaur Municipality-4, Salyan, who was riding in the same truck, was found dead about 30 meters below the incident site, according to the police. The driver has been rescued after the accident. Further investigation into the incident is underway, said Police Inspector Sunil Thapa Nepali, Information Officer at the District Police Office.
