The Election Commission has dismissed Ward Chairman Madhusudan Sharma of Ghorahi Sub-metropolitan City Ward No. 4. The Commission has decided that the post is vacant as per the legal provisions, saying that Sharma has left the party and joined another party.

The CPN-UML Central Committee informed that Sharma, who was elected as Ward Chairman from UML in the 2079 BS local level elections, has changed parties. The Commission has decided to dismiss Sharma from his post after the UML Central Committee informed that Sharma had changed parties. Based on the letter from UML, the Commission has decided that the post to which Sharma was elected is automatically vacant. Sharma had joined the National Independent Party during the Genji Movement.

The Commission has informed through a public notice on Wednesday that he has been dismissed from his post as per the legal provisions of Section 32 (1) of the Political Parties Act, 2073 BS and Rule 22 of the Political Parties Regulations, 2074 BS. Along with Sharma, the posts of seven other ward chairmen of Okhaldhunga, Palpa, Lalitpur and Morang have also become vacant due to party resignations.
