The Area Police Office, Garhwa, has informed that four people, including Ahir, were arrested on Monday on charges of helping an Indian citizen, Alam Jolha, obtain citizenship by recommending him as a resident of their ward.
The arrested along with Ahir are Rajpur Rural Municipality-4 Ward Secretary Rajkumar Kahar, Office Assistant Meena Chaudhary and 44-year-old Indian citizen Alam Jolha, said Chief Police Inspector Double Bahadur Bam of the Area Police Office, Garhwa.
He informed that the district court has extended the remand of all the four arrested for five days for citizenship-related offenses and further investigation is underway.
