Due to the extreme heat, Kapilvastu and Banganga municipalities in the district have given 3-day holidays to schools. Due to the extreme heat along with the hot weather for a week, life has become difficult.

Both municipalities have issued a notice stating that they have given holidays to schools from Jestha 25 to 27. Since Sunday is a public holiday, the holidays have been given from Monday.

The holidays have been given because the heat has made it difficult to conduct teaching and learning activities in schools and the risk of problems in the health of children has increased, said Yubaraj Bhusal, head of the Kapilvastu Municipality Education Branch.

Similarly, the general public has been forced to stay indoors due to the increasing heat in the past few days. Sudip Poude, head of Kapilvastu Municipality, said that the holidays have been given to schools because the risk of adverse effects on the health of children has increased due to the increase in the number of infections of various diseases. The municipalities have said that the emergency holidays have been granted as deductions from the summer holidays as per the decision of the Municipal Education Committee.
