A new leadership has been elected in the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSWP) District Committee, Dang. Most of the youth have come to the leadership in the elections held on Saturday night.

Kiran Khanal, 34, of Lamahi, has been elected as the President by securing 196 votes. His nearest competitor, outgoing President Binay Ghimire, received 124 votes. Other competitors for the President position were Kedar Rajouri with 6 votes and Kiran Kumar Acharya with 2 votes.

Nirajan Thapa, 20, has been elected as the Vice President. He received 240 votes while his competitor Sunita Rawat received 80 votes. Outgoing Secretary Asim Bhusal has been elected as the Secretary with 200 votes. His competitor Baliram Khatri received 123 votes.

Pramila Roka Magar has been elected as the Joint Secretary with 184 votes. The nearest competitor, Deepak Gaire, received 108 votes and Somraj Basnet received 63 votes.

Hotaram Acharya, Rabindra KC, Prakash Chaudhary, Pratap Bikram Pun Magar, Ananta Chaudhary, Mohan Acharya, Goma Sharma, Chuman Chaudhary and Pavitra BK were elected as members, informed election coordinator Lokman Rijal. He said that out of 335 votes cast, 6 votes were invalid.
