Police have arrested a person who cruelly treated a cow and posted a video on social media. Jaliram Thapa was arrested for burying the cow's nose and mouth in the soil after it refused to move while plowing in the field.
According to Police Inspector Hari Bhattarai, Information Officer of the District Police Office, Pyuthan, 36-year-old Jaliram, a resident of Gaumukhi Rural Municipality Ward No. 1, was arrested. Bhattarai informed that Jaliram made a video of the cow's nose and mouth being hit with a car and posted it on Facebook and TikTok.
He said that a case has been registered under Section 290 of Chapter 27 of the Criminal Code, 2074 BS, which prohibits cruelty to animals. He said that the District Administration Office, Pyuthan, has extended the time limit for 5 days and necessary investigation is underway.
