Lumbini Provincial Government's Annual Policy Program has been passed by a majority. The eighth meeting of the eighth session of the Provincial Assembly passed the annual policy program for the fiscal year 208384 by a majority on Wednesday.
Chief Minister Chet Narayan Acharya had submitted a proposal to pass the annual policy program for the fiscal year 208384. Presenting the proposal for decision, Speaker Tula Ram Gharti Magar announced that the annual policy program was passed by a majority. In the meeting, Chief Minister Acharya answered questions raised on the policy program and clarified that the government would prepare the budget based on the policy program.
Opposition leader Jokh Bahadur Mahara addressed the special session. In the meeting on Wednesday, Social Development Minister Janmajya Timilsina submitted a proposal to hold a principled discussion on the 'Bill on the Protection of the Customs and Traditions of the Tharu Community'. Provincial Assembly members expressed their views on the proposal. Minister Timilsina answered the members' queries on the bill.
Similarly, in the meeting, Chief Minister Acharya presented the annual reports of various commissions to the Provincial Assembly. The Provincial Assembly Secretariat has stated that the upcoming meeting will be informed through a notice.
