The Lumbini Provincial Government's policy and program for the coming year is set to be made public on Monday. The government had planned to make it public on Saturday, but the policy and program was postponed two days after it could not be prepared.
The Chief Minister, Minister, Chief Secretary, Secretaries, Vice President of the Planning Commission, members and expert members of the provincial government are in continuous discussions after 4 pm on Friday to finalize the government's policy program. As the discussions were not completed even till evening, the time to make the policy program public has passed.
Minister for Physical Infrastructure Development Bhumishwar Dhakal said that preparations were being made to make the policy program public on Monday after the discussions were completed by late Friday evening and it was seen that it would not be possible to make it public on Saturday.
'The government had prepared to make it public on Saturday itself,' he said, 'However, it has been postponed to Monday as there was not enough preparation.' He said that the policy program for the coming year will focus on the balanced development of the entire province and will fulfill the aspirations of the people. He said that the cabinet meeting to be held on Friday will decide to make the policy program public on Monday.
According to sources, the government is preparing the policy program by giving priority to promoting good governance, digital technology, tourism and employment. Similarly, programs that aim to improve agriculture and meet the aspirations of the people have also received priority. Service delivery has also been a priority for the government.
The government is also going to move forward with the issue of maintaining only 8 ministries in the province from next Shrawan by deciding from the provincial council of ministers, by including it in both the policy program and the budget. Similarly, the government's decision to expand the Transport Management Service Office, which is the main hub of service recipients, to all 12 districts of the province will also be included in the policy program to be implemented from next Shrawan.
Similarly, the policy program is preparing a policy program for the coming year to complete unfinished plans, effectively implement projects of provincial pride, and coordinate with the federal government for large projects. All ministries have submitted their ministry-specific policy program suggestions to the Chief Minister's Office.
A team including Krishna Prasad Kapri, Chief Secretary of the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers, Dilliraj Aryal, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Planning Commission, former Vice Chairman of the Provincial Planning Commission and development expert Nahakul KC, and others are preparing to study and analyze the policy program suggestions given by the ministries and give them a final shape. Sources claim that the government's upcoming policies and programs will be covered in a maximum of 130 points.
