Ten local levels in the district have been found to have spent Rs 18.25 crore more than the budget last year. In the fiscal year 2081/82, the highest amount of irregularities was seen in Yashodhara Rural Municipality and the lowest in Banganga Municipality.

According to the 63rd annual audit report released by the Office of the Auditor General, it is mentioned that 10 local levels in the district have spent Rs 182.41 million and 19 thousand against financial discipline. The irregularities were found when the accounts of 19.73 billion and 61 million and 28 thousand of the 10 local levels were audited.

The highest amount of irregularities was in Yashodhara Rural Municipality and the lowest amount of irregularities was in Banganga Municipality. Out of the audited accounts of Rs 1.39 billion and 39 million and 9 thousand respectively, 3.17 percent or Rs 44.19 million and 94 thousand respectively were found.

Similarly, 1.76 percent of Vijayanagar Rural Municipality was found to have irregularities. While auditing the accounts of Vijayanagar, Rs 1.47 billion 71 million 12 thousand, Rs 259 million 35 thousand were found to be unaccounted for. Similarly, the report states that out of the Rs 1.37 billion 58 million 79 thousand of Shuddhodhan Rural Municipality, Rs 164 million 76 thousand, or 1.2 percent, were found to be unaccounted for. Mayadevi Rural Municipality has an unaccounted amount of Rs 172 million 75 thousand. Out of the Rs 1.64 billion 62 million 75 thousand of Mayadevi, an unaccounted amount of Rs 1.05 percent was found to be unaccounted for.

Shivraj Municipality has an unaccounted amount of 0.75 percent. Out of the Rs 2.30 billion 35 million 68 thousand, the Auditor General's Office has mentioned an unaccounted amount of Rs 173 million 68 thousand.

Kapilvastu Municipality's Rs 2.30 billion 80 million 59 thousand audited accounts revealed zero.68 percent or Rs 1 crore 56 million 84 thousand was found to be unaccounted for. Similarly, Krishnanagar and Maharajgunj municipalities have the same amount of unaccounted for, zero.61 percent.

Krishnanagar Municipality's Rs 1.87 billion 24 million 99 thousand audited accounts revealed 1 crore 14 million 48 thousand was found to be unaccounted for. Maharajgunj Municipality's Rs 1.99 billion 87 million 90 thousand audited accounts revealed zero.61 percent or Rs 1 crore 21 million 41 thousand was found to be unaccounted for.

Buddhabhumi Municipality's Rs 2.25 billion 98 million 74 thousand audited accounts revealed zero.58 percent or Rs 1 crore 30 million 50 thousand was found to be unaccounted for. Banganga Municipality's Rs 3.10 billion 1 lakh 63 thousand audited accounts revealed 88 million 48 thousand was found to be unaccounted for. The lowest percentage is 0.29 percent in Banganga.
