A businessman here has expressed his grief over the threat of burning the vehicles of the industry if the donations demanded in the name of 'NCP Maoist' are not paid.

Businessman Bharat Kumar Pokharel of Siddharthanagar-8 held a press conference on Tuesday and made it public that he had threatened to burn the vehicles of the readymix industry if the donations demanded were not paid. A letter has been sent to the industry in the name of the organization and issued a warning.

A letter with the seal of the CPN (Maoist) Central Committee has been sent. The letter, dated 29 Baisakh 2083, also uses the letter number, invoice number and party seal. The letter was cut in the name of Chaitanya Readymix Concrete Pvt. Ltd., operated by Pokharel, and the donation was demanded.

Pokharel said that a person claiming to be a Maoist cadre had repeatedly called him asking for financial assistance and had threatened to physically attack him after he refused to give it.

‘Who is the real person and the letter demanding financial assistance? I do not know. The threat of physical attack was made after I said that I could not provide financial assistance,’ Pokharel said, ‘I have informed the police and administrative bodies about this and have demanded that an investigation be carried out.’

He said that he had also provided the administrative bodies with the mobile number of the person who had asked for financial assistance and threatened him. The letter mentions that a ‘people’s uprising’ has been taken forward and that a special economic campaign has been launched as financial assistance is needed to mobilize the People’s Liberation Army.
