They have demanded the withdrawal of the 15-day notice issued by the Division Forest Office on April 14. The 15-day notice to vacate the encroached area issued by the Forest Office expires on Monday.
A large number of squatters and freed squatters participated in the demonstration jointly organized by the Joint Land Rights Struggle Committee, Muktakamai Land Rights Struggle Committee, Land Rights and Workers' Organization Nepal, All Nepal Sukumvasi Organization and National Land Rights Forum in the scorching heat.
They have been demanding that landless, Dalit, squatters and unorganized settlers be managed in the same place where they are settled.
