A free burn treatment camp is being conducted at Rapti Institute of Health Sciences, Ghorahi. The first burn treatment camp has been started in the district in coordination with Nabil Bank Limited and Sushma Koirala Memorial Trust Hospital.
The camp, which started on Friday, will be conducted till Monday, said Dr. Suresh Rasaili, Acting Chief Co-Director of the institute. The camp is being conducted with the main slogan of ‘Life does not stop due to burns, treatment can bring change in life’. Free operations related to burn treatment are also being conducted in the camp. Operations that are not possible at the institute will be free even if they have to be done in Kathmandu.
Nabil Bank has informed that any patient suffering from problems due to burns can benefit from this camp. Nabil Bank is conducting such camps under its social responsibility. Earlier, similar camps have been conducted in Dhangadhi, Surkhet and Birgunj.
The institute is preparing to start burn treatment services from this fiscal year. For this, an agreement has been signed with Kirtipur Burn Hospital for technical cooperation and further preparations are underway to collaborate with the Sushma Koirala Trust's Burn Hospital. He informed that the institute plans to manage at least a four-bed burn unit in the current fiscal year.
