Victims of meter interest and unfair transactions staged a protest at the District Administration Office, West Nawalparasi.

They staged a protest to draw the government's attention to the problem of meter interest victims, saying that the government has not taken any initiative to solve the problem.

In the protest organized by the Farmers and Workers' Movement against Meter Interest, Nawalparasi, the meter interest victims shouted slogans saying, 'Take action against the moneylenders who make fake Tamsuk, return the lost property and give justice to the victims.'

After the protest, the protesters submitted a memorandum to Chief District Officer Deepak Nepal, stating that they will launch a protest if the new government does not immediately provide justice to the victims and action is taken against the perpetrators.

Kul Bahadur Thapa, Chairman of the Nawalparasi Farmers' Workers' Movement against Meter Interest, said that the previous government only gave assurances and the current new government has not shown any interest in providing justice to the victims.
