On the occasion of the 2570th Buddha Jayanti, various relief materials and food were distributed to children in a children's home in Kapilvastu on Saturday.
Ancient Kapilvastu Savings Group, Siddhartha Tolihawa, organized the distribution of bags, sports and stationery materials, and swings to 32 helpless children in the children's home.
At the program, Kapilvastu Municipality Mayor Sudip Poudel said that putting the Buddha's teachings into practice and serving humanity would help strengthen friendship, compassion, and social harmony. Similarly, former executive member of Lumbini Development Fund Rajesh Gyawali, human rights activist Ravi Thakur, Savings Group President Anjana Khatri Gyawali, and Tika Bhattarai Joshi said that ensuring children's rights should be a shared responsibility of everyone.
The program is organized with the support of Nepal-India Friendship Association, Royal Thai Monastery Lumbini, Lumbini Swarnabhumi Foundation, Wat Thai Kapilvastu Nigrodharam, Sariputra Foundation and Nepal Cancer Prevention Institute.
