Doctors at Bheri Hospital, including Chief Medical Superintendent Dr. Niranjan Subedi, have gone on strike demanding action against the culprits and security after they were subjected to assault, misbehavior and death threats. Doctors have been on strike since Tuesday by shutting down all services except emergency services.

A group of doctors from Baijnath Rural Municipality-6, Banke, tried to assault and insult Dr. Niranjan Subedi's office on Tuesday, eyewitnesses said. Similarly, the hospital administration has stated that doctors including Chief Consultant Physician Dr. Rajan Pandey have been threatened with death.

Those involved in the incident are not allowed to return to patient care until the safety of all doctors and healthcare workers is fully guaranteed, said Dr. Subedi, Chief Medical Superintendent of the hospital. "We are also saddened when a patient dies during treatment, but it is not appropriate to attempt to attack or threaten a doctor when there is a legal process to be taken if they disagree with the treatment process," he said. "This has lowered the morale of all doctors. A situation of panic has been created. There is no way to return to work until the guilty are taken action and security is fully guaranteed."

The hospital's chief consultant physician, Dr. Rajan Pandey, also said that the doctors are in panic. He said that it is condemnable to attempt to assault a doctor even when legal avenues are open if they are not satisfied with the hospital's treatment process.

In a discussion between the doctor and the relatives of the deceased, facilitated by House of Representatives member Khagendra Sunar, on Monday, it was agreed to seek legal action against the doctor involved in the treatment and that the victim's relatives would understand after the postmortem on Tuesday. Accordingly, the victim's family has already filed a police complaint on Monday, demanding action against the doctor involved in the treatment.
