ISMA Rural Municipality has finally decided on the center in Ward No. 5, Chaptari. The issue had reached the Supreme Court after becoming controversial during the tenure of the previous people's representative.
After the Supreme Court recently ruled that the responsibility of deciding on the center lies with the concerned municipality, the current people's representative has been given the authority to take the decision regarding the center forward.
The village assembly meeting held on Monday under the chairmanship of the rural municipality chairman Bhagat Singh Khadka unanimously decided on the center in Ward No. 5, said the rural municipality vice-chairman and spokesperson, Advocate Parbati Kunwar. Earlier, the executive meeting had also unanimously decided to keep the center in Chaptari. She said this is a historic decision and achievement for ISMA.
The decision regarding the center was made unanimously after Dhal Bahadur Kunwar supported Pom Prasad Bhusal's proposal.
ISMA Rural Municipality Chairman Khadka said that the rural municipality center will now be located at a place with more than 35 ropanis of land in Chaptari. 'The issue of the center was controversial during the tenure of the previous people's representative,' he said, 'We have decided after the final authority to decide on the center came to the village assembly.'
Currently, the temporary office of ISMA Rural Municipality is located at the Rajsthal of Ward No. 5.
