Four people, including the ward chairman and secretary of Susta Rural Municipality-5 in West Nawalparasi, have been arrested on charges of registering the death of a living person.
It has been revealed that Tarikh Mian Ansari, a resident of Susta Rural Municipality-5, had corrected his father's surname 'Jamaluddin Ansari' in his birth certificate and made a copy of it 'Jamaluddin Musalman' and registered the death of his neighbor, 66-year-old Jamaluddin Musalman, on the basis of the same citizenship.
Tarikh Mian had submitted an application to the ward office on 23 Kartik 2082 for a copy of his birth certificate and death certificate, attaching the citizenship of the living person.

All four arrested persons have been investigated for offences under Section 41 (c) and (f) of Chapter 6 of the National Identity Card and Registration Act, 2076 BS.
