Than Bahadur Pata of Arvsing Manchhelung, Rampur Municipality-9, Palpa is happy to receive social security allowance from the ward. It would have cost him extra to go to Rampur to collect the allowance. He said that he walked to the village to collect the allowance.
‘It would have cost more than one thousand rupees to go to Rampur,’ he said, ‘Since the allowance money is distributed from the ward office, that expense has been saved.’ Bhimisara Nepali of Jabgadi, Rampur Municipality-9, also said that since she was able to collect the social security allowance from the ward, she has saved all the expenses of transportation, breakfast, and food to reach Rampur.
She said that she had to travel to Bejhad Bazaar in Rampur to collect her own social security allowance. According to her, she used to spend at least a thousand rupees each time she went back and forth. ‘The expense of going to Rampur has been saved,’ she said, ‘I feel like it has been a great help.’
Not only Pata and Nepalis, but also senior citizens have said that it is now easier to receive allowances from the ward office, even though they have to suffer. 'Being able to receive allowances from near home after eating home-cooked food has saved time along with car fare and lunch expenses,' said a Nepali who received social security allowance from the ward. 
Senior citizens, single senior citizens, Dalit senior citizens, disabled and disabled people from remote wards are happy after Rampur Municipality distributed social security allowances from the ward office.
The municipality has made arrangements to provide social security allowances through banks. But for some ward residents, access to banks is geographically far. Mayor Raman Bahadur Thapa said that social security allowances have been distributed from the ward office for the convenience of beneficiaries from remote wards. He said that the municipality has been distributing allowances every quarter in collaboration with various banks within the city. He said that Rampur Municipality has been distributing social security allowance from the ward office for the convenience of the citizens of Ward Nos. 1 and 2 Gadakot, 9 Jabgadi, and 10 Gejha.
Along with the distribution of allowance, biometric verification service through national identity cards has also been provided from the ward office for the beneficiaries receiving social security allowance. Social security allowance was distributed to 182 beneficiaries in the camp held in Ward No. 9. Pratima Ghimire, Head of the Registration Branch of Rampur Municipality, said that biometric verification of 141 people was done in the camp held at the ward office.
Ward Secretary Chintamani Bhandari said that biometric verification of 188 senior citizens, 4 Dalit senior citizens, 20 single senior citizens, 6 single women, and 3 severely disabled citizens was done in the camp.
