International volunteer organization Chuji Foundation has announced that it has completed preparations to operate the 'Chuji Lumbini Campus' in Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha. It has informed that it has done this work to connect with the community level of Lumbini through education, health, communication and community service.

Based on the kindness, compassion and humanitarian service propounded by Gautam Buddha, its organization is working in 139 countries of the world and the organization claims that Lumbini has also become its choice in this regard.

The Chuji Foundation interacted with the local community in Lumbini on Saturday and informed that the Chuji Lumbini Campus Garden will be inaugurated on Baisakh 20. The campus premises have a hospital, skill training center, communication and community building to provide various services to the local community.

Lin, vice president of the Taiwan-headquartered foundation, said that the aim is to deeply establish the spirit of mutual assistance for generations by collaborating with the Nepali community in the land of Buddha through acts of kindness, compassion and humanitarian assistance.

Chuji Foundation provided health care to 1,800 families left homeless in the 2072 BS earthquake by bringing foreign doctors and building houses.  During the Covid pandemic, it chartered 10 planes and provided health care supplies including medicines.

The foundation has been running education, health, support for disadvantaged communities, skill development and community service programs in Lumbini, Kapilvastu and Kathmandu and other areas through its volunteers since 2022.

Chuji Lumbini Buddhist Chuji School under the Lumbini Campus Garden has currently started the first academic session from kindergarten to grade 2 and plans to gradually expand the school to grade 12, said Rakesh Tripathi, a volunteer at the foundation.  ‘In the long term, the goal is also to establish a technical school and a university,’ he said.

Dr. Nidhi Shakya, who oversees Nepal’s health services through the foundation, said that there are plans to operate a 300-bed hospital along with the start of a health clinic in Lumbini.

In 1966, Cheng Yen, a Buddhist woman from Taiwan, started this organization with a campaign to deposit 50 paisa in a piggy bank every day and expanded it globally to work in the fields of charity, health, education, and humanitarian culture.
