Local level chiefs of West Nawalparasi have demanded a revision in the district rate, saying that construction entrepreneurs have delayed development due to rising inflation and the increase in the price of petroleum products.

The heads of all seven local levels of the district organized a press conference in the district headquarters, Parasi, today and demanded a revision in the rate. It has been decided to draw the attention of the federal government through the heads of the District Coordination Committee, Chief District Officer and others.

Municipal chiefs have complained that due to the increase in prices, entrepreneurs are not issuing tenders and even stopping the ongoing work.

Ramgram Municipality Chief Dhanpat Yadav said that if the district rate is not revised, development work across the district will be affected.

The municipal chief expressed concern that in this situation, development work will not progress and funds will be frozen.

In this way, the people's representatives participating in the press conference have demanded from the central government to change the policy of levying customs duty on goods worth more than Rs 100 at the Indian border, not to interfere in the rights of the local level in education, and to supply chemical fertilizers on time.
