In Parasi, the headquarters of West Nawalparasi, Ramgram Municipality has deployed a bulldozer on houses and shacks that do not meet the standards. The structures built against the standards have been removed.
Ramgram Municipality had issued notices to remove construction materials placed on roads and sidewalks and demolish structures within the road standards, but they were demolished after they were not removed on time. The municipality has also deployed a bulldozer on tin shacks built to block the sun of some houses and on shutter areas rented by Prithvi Chandra Hospital.
Locals were angry when the municipality deployed the bulldozer, saying that the municipality deployed the bulldozer without sufficient notice.
Mayor Dhanpat Yadav said that he had no intention of hurting anyone and that the bulldozer was deployed only after informing everyone repeatedly. The municipality has stated that the work of removing illegal structures that began today will continue.
