Six houses were completely destroyed in a fire in Krishi Chaupheri village, Duduwa Rural Municipality-1, Banke on Thursday. The Nepal Red Cross Society, Banke, has reported that food, clothes, cash, jewelry and other physical assets stored in the house were reduced to ashes. According to locals, a sudden fire that broke out in the house of local Haggu Yadav on Thursday afternoon had also spread to neighboring houses. The houses of Haggu Yadav, Kriparam Yadav, Kuware Yadav, Lallu Yadav, Sanjay Yadav and Arun Yadav were destroyed in the fire. Local disaster management leader Ram Manohar Yadav said that although the fire brigade was called from Nepalgunj immediately after the fire, the damage was extensive due to the delay in reaching the scene. According to him, the fire was brought under control with the collective efforts of the local community and the fire brigade.
