A two-day skill development workshop has been launched from Monday to enhance the skills of investors who have just started businesses in Lumbini Province.
A skill development workshop was conducted for 35 entrepreneurs selected from districts including Rupandehi, Kapilvastu, Dang, Palpa.
The workshop was organized under the US-Nepal Business Diplomacy Discussion Series with the aim of working collectively on trade, investment and exploration. Earlier, such workshops have been organized in Nepalgunj, Janakpur, Hetauda. Organizers informed that the program will be held in Pokhara after Bhairahawa. About 200 people from 7 provinces of the country will participate in it.
At the beginning of the program organized with the support of the US Embassy in Nepal, the participants spoke about the businesses they are doing, their results and their goals for the next one and a half years. Roshan Ghimire, Country Director of the International Development Institute, said that the skill development program was started from Nepalgunj a month ago. He said that the youth from the economic centers of the province, Rupandehi, Kapilvastu, Nepalgunj, and Dang, have been given priority to participate in the program.
‘The program is organized with the aim of enhancing the business skills of investors from economic cities outside Kathmandu,’ Ghimire said. ‘After the two-day workshop, participants will be facilitated through digital media for 6 months.’
He said that business diplomacy will be strengthened through long-term collaboration with investors. Ashutosh Tiwari and Kamal Gyawali are training the participants. The objective of this program is also linked to employment growth. ‘It seems that those who start new enterprises like you will create more jobs in the future,’ Ghimire said. ‘We are paying attention to what kind of support and facilities can be provided for that.’
