Food festivals have been organized in Srinagar, Tundikhel and Gufachaur in Palpa on the first day of the New Year 2083. The second food and tourism festival has been organized in Gufachaur in Telgha, Tansen Municipality-10, which is being developed as a tourist destination. A three-day food festival and cultural festival have been organized in Tundikhel in Tansen. Devotees had thronged various monasteries in Ribdikot Rural Municipality-4, Bhairavsthan, Bhagwati Temple in Tansen, and Rampur since morning. On the occasion of Baisakhe Sankranti, there was a throng of people taking bath in the Kaligandaki River. People gather at tourist and religious places in Palpa to welcome the New Year, sing and dance, and eat traditional food. Family gatherings and picnics have filled the tourist spots.

The local community organized a food and tourism festival on the occasion of the New Year at Gufachaur in Tansen Municipality-10, Telgha to preserve art and culture. Local traditional food dishes such as Batuk, Selroti, Chukauni, and Mewa pickles from places like Telgha, Masyam, Bandipokhara were exhibited and sold at Gufachaur. Similarly, Sinki pickle, Githa pickle, Kapro, Koiral pickle, Tarul, and Phaparko Furaula were kept at the festival.

Visitors from Palpa, Gulmi, Rupandehi, Nawalparasi, Kapilvastu, and Arghakhanchi also came to Gufachaur. Inaugurating the festival, House of Representatives member Madhav Bahadur Thapa said that the current government has taken the lead in good governance in the first phase. He said that he would reduce corruption and lead the country on the path of prosperity. He said that they will move forward in collaboration to develop Gufachaur as a tourist destination in the coming days. Constituent Assembly member and former minister Som Prasad Pandey said that he has been taking the initiative to make Gufachaur, which is close to Tansen, a tourist destination for 12 years. He said that the municipality should provide support in homestays as well as tourist infrastructure to make Gufachaur a nearby tourist destination.

Ward Chairman of Tansen Municipality-10, Himlal Pangeni, Chairman of the Gufachaur Food and Tourist Festival Organizing Committee, Krishna Bahadur Rana, said that they are taking the initiative to make this area a tourist destination in the coming days and plan to install a large Ganesh statue here. The Ganesh statue has been placed near the ward office for 10 years. The festival was attended by women and men's panchebaja players, folk and duo singer Shantarani Pariyar, folk singer Rupesh Karki, and others. Santosh Basyal, a member of the local organizing committee, said that there were performances by the Kala Kendra, including Jhamre, a dance based on Magari culture.
