Lumbini Province Chief Minister Chet Narayan Acharya has expressed the view that the federal government should not issue unnecessary directives to the provincial and local governments.

Saying that the federal government is trying to interfere, he urged them not to issue directives beyond the authority given by the constitution. Addressing the inauguration program held in Tulsipur on Monday on the occasion of the 34th establishment day of Tulsipur Sub-metropolitan City, Chief Minister Acharya also clarified that the provincial and local governments are autonomous as per the constitution.

He said that although the federal government can give directions, it cannot give direct instructions. 'We are ready to move forward by accepting coordination, cooperation and coexistence with the federal government for the implementation of the rights specified in the constitution. However, giving directives beyond that is not appropriate,' he said.

Acharya noted that the number of various directives has increased after Bhadra and drew the federal government's attention to it. He also said that the provincial government is serious about the federal government's behavior towards the media sector and demanded that such decisions be corrected immediately. He pointed out the need for all three levels of government to move forward in a planned manner.

Acharya expressed his best wishes to all the residents of Tulsipur Sub-metropolitan City and expressed his respect for the elders and social activists who have contributed to the development of the city in the past 34 years. Stating that the development of Tulsipur was possible due to the contributions of the elders, he said that there has been significant progress in the education, health, infrastructure and social sectors. Stating that the pace of development has accelerated after the implementation of federalism, he said that an overall assessment of the achievements of the last seven-eight years is necessary.

The program, chaired by Tulsipur Sub-metropolitan City Mayor Tikaram Khadka, was attended by House of Representatives member Kamal Subedi, outgoing mayor Ghanshyam Pandey, representatives of various political parties, heads of social organizations and residents.
