The leopard, which was rescued from Bhalubang, Rapti Rural Municipality-1, Dang on Tuesday, is currently undergoing treatment at the National Trust for Nature Conservation in Bardiya.
The injured leopard was brought to Bardiya on Tuesday. Ajit Tumbahamphe, head of the National Trust for Nature Conservation, Bardiya, said that the leopard had injuries in many parts of its body.
‘Veterinarian Vikalp Karki has started treating the injured leopard since Wednesday,’ said head Tumbahamphe, ‘Two locals were injured while rescuing the injured leopard.’
The rescued leopard is a female of about 3 years old, according to the conservation fund. The nature conservation fund treats injured wildlife.
