The Rukum East District Hospital has started providing services from a new building. Until now, services were provided from a small and old building, but now the service flow from the new and spacious building has become easier for everyone.
After Rukum East became a separate district after federalization, the district hospital services were being operated from the structure of the previous area health office since 2074 BS.
Construction began in 2078 BS and was recently completed, and the hospital building was handed over last Poush. Hospital Chief Dr. Krishna Kharal said that services have now started being provided smoothly from the new building.
‘Although the district hospital was supposed to have 50 beds, we were barely able to provide services up to 15 beds due to lack of physical infrastructure and technical manpower,’ Dr. Kharal said, ‘Now the physical infrastructure has been created that can operate 50 beds. Right now, we can operate up to 30-35 beds in it.’
