The Lumbini Provincial Government's cabinet meeting held on Sunday has approved proposals related to the limit of grants to be provided to the local level and the distribution of vehicle tax.
The cabinet has approved the proposal related to the determination of the limit of financial equalization grant, supplementary grant, special grant and conditional grant to be transferred by the provincial government to the local level for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/84, informed the government spokesperson and Minister for Agriculture, Land Management and Cooperatives Dinesh Panthi.
The meeting has also passed a proposal related to the distribution of vehicle tax collected within the province. According to which, the estimated limit of vehicle tax to be distributed to the local level in the upcoming fiscal year 2083/84 has been determined at Rs. 1.45 billion.
The provincial government has also determined additional public and festival holidays for 2083 BS. It has been decided to give public holidays across the province on the occasions of Haritalika Teej, Maghe Sankranti, Province Foundation Day and Basant Panchami, while it has been decided to give holidays to the concerned communities on festivals like Bhumya Puja, Badka Atwari, Bhagwati Jatra and Magar Diwas.
A meeting chaired by Chief Minister Chet Narayan Acharya has decided to determine the scope of work of pesticide inspectors. Senior Crop Protection Officer Milan Gaire has been given the responsibility of pesticide inspector of Rupandehi, Kapilvastu, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta West), Arghakhanchi, Palpa and Gulmi. Similarly, Officer Eliza Shrestha has been given the scope of work of pesticide inspector of Pyuthan, Rolpa, Rukum East, Banke, Bardiya and Dang.
