The postmortem report of 22-year-old Sirjana Budhamagar, who was found burnt to death in Koreanpur, Banke on Sunday morning, has confirmed that the death was due to burns.
The postmortem report conducted at Bheri Hospital stated that Sirjana died due to burns, informed the District Police Office, Banke Police Chief Angur GC.
‘The postmortem report has confirmed that the cause of death was burns. She was found to have been burnt alive. The postmortem report did not show any injuries on the outside or inside of the body. Now the way has been opened for further investigation into the death,’ said the District Police Office, Banke Chief GC, ‘It has been found that Sirjana called the boy’s mother at 11:21 am on the day of the incident. However, how the incident happened and who was involved can only be said after the investigation is completed.’
After Sirjana, who was staying in a 'Living Together' in Nepalgunj-8, Ranitalau, was found burnt to death about fifty meters from the house of Arif Dhapali, her relatives have filed a complaint with the police against Arif and his family members. Sirjana's relatives have been accusing Arif of murdering her.
Police have arrested Arif, who fled to India after the incident, the next day after the incident. Along with Arif, the police have also arrested his mother and sister and are investigating. A search is underway for some more people named in the complaint.
According to the police, they were living together. The deceased had been living with Md. Arif Dhapali in a rented room in Nepalgunj-8 Ranital for the past 2 years. But the relationship between them was not good. As the dispute escalated, Sirjana would sometimes go to the ward and sometimes to the police. They went to the police on Saturday and returned after making a settlement. The incident took place the same night after the settlement.
A police team immediately reached the spot after receiving information about a woman being burnt on the road in Koreanpur at 11:35 pm on Saturday. Sirjana was found seriously burnt. The injured Sirjana was immediately rescued and taken to Bheri Hospital, where doctors declared her dead on Sunday morning during treatment.
