There is a shortage of rabies vaccines in West Nawalparasi. The district's Prithvi Chandra District Hospital and government health institutions have been experiencing a shortage of vaccines for a week.

Although the district requires 100 vaccines every week, only 40 are available. The vaccine is sold out in 2-3 days, said Apsa Khatun Minya, information officer at Prithvi Chandra District Hospital.

The vaccine that arrived from the province on 11 Chait was sold out in 2 days and patients are coming to get vaccinated, he said.

Every day, 10 to 15 people come to the hospital to get vaccinated against rabies.

The rabies vaccine comes to the district through the Epidemiology and Communicable Disease Control Division through the Provincial Health Supply and Management Center. Due to the shortage of this vaccine, which is available free of charge in government health institutions, patients are forced to go to private health institutions and pay a high price to get it.
